And we are back!
After a short hiatus following the completion of Chapter II and the release of the first TOTD collected volume, Chapter III begins today.
While I’m thrilled to be continuing the story for you all, I’m still a little freaked out that IT’S AUGUST ALREADY?! This summer is flying by faster than usual, I’m sure of it.
Okay, enough of that. As you can see, this chapter picks up shortly after the end of the last one. I wanted to develop the relationship of the kids and their grandfather to kick off this chapter. Callum and Cayla revere their grandfather, but they don’t know him as well as either would like. Callum has always heard adults refer to the Old Man’s past heroic feats, but has actually never seen them, hence his disappointment when he gave himself up to the vile Spivy and Skunk.
But, the wily Old Man clearly has a plan…

Seems to me the “old man” bears a striking resemblance to the king. Then there’s the little girl’s red hair. If there’s a connection here, I’m not sure who the grandma is going to be – perhaps the king remarried? Still lots to be revealed no doubt, but I have my suspicions.
