Tragedy strikes again, as Torvuld and his Queen’s second baby boy dies shortly after his birth.
In the script, I really wanted to push for a powerful transition from 4 to 5, and was very pleased with how Koko handled it. And I think Miguel really brought it home with the somber atmosphere in the last panel.
I gave Koko some tough stuff to convey, here. I think he did a great job with the Queen, haunted by the death of her son yet resolved to provide an heir to her husband. And though a small moment, this page foreshadows the woman young Yordania is to become.
Once again, bang up job by Koko and Miguel.
There’s a reason this chapter is called “Torvuld’s Plight.” And this tragedy is the first to befall the King. It won’t be the last.

I’m really pleased with how this scene came out. Lucitus won’t get too much “screen time” early on in this story, but he is a MAJOR character.
